Piazzolla: Oblivion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Fegu\u0161 Brothers have attained their place under the sun by their high level regarding the art at which they excell. Their performances are distinguishable by their high levels of focus, rounded sound, related experiencing of musical arts, natural talent, and knowledge worthy of consideration. We cannot ignore the fact that they perform in concert halls to full audiences, which nowadays attracts so much greater attention.\u201d(J.\u0160etinc, 11.11.2009, Daily paper Ve\u010der)<\/p>\n<p>The FEGU\u0160 STRING QUARTET has been performing since 1992, it&#8217;s members are brothers: Filip and Simon Peter \u2013 violin, Andrej \u2013 viola, and Jernej \u2013 cello. They started their educational path at the Maribor Music Conservatory after which their studies continued at the State Conservatory of Carinthia in Klagenfurt (Austria).<\/p>\n<p>In 2001, the Fegu\u0161 String Quartet was accepted for the study of chamber music at the prestigious private school \u00bbScuola di Musica di Fiesole\u00ab (Florence, Italy) under the mentorship of Milan \u0160kampa (Smetana Quartet) and Piero Farulli (Quartetto Italiano), as well as Andreo Nannoni (Nuovo Quartetto), until the year 2007. For their studies they also received a stipendum from the Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2012 the Quartet completed their Masters programme of Chamber Music at the \u00bbUniversit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz\u00ab with Stephan Goerner (Carmina Quartet) and they achieved the academic titles of Masters of Arts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Fergu\u0161 Quartet Fegu\u0161 is different from other already instrumental groups having the same composition, and as such is becoming comparable with the top string quartets\u201c (M. \u0160ijanec, 17.11.2005, Daily paper Ve\u010der)<\/p>\n<p>They have upgrated their knowledge at numerous international master classes conducted by members of world \u2013 reknowned quartets: Alban Berg Quartet, Amadeus Quartet, Borodin Quartet, Emerson Quartet, Juilliard Quartet, LaSalle Quartet, Guarneri Quartet, as well as others.<\/p>\n<p>In 2001 the Fegu\u0161 String Quartet qualified for the \u00bbIsaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop\u00ab at Carnegie Hall (New York) under the leadership of the legendary violinist Isaac Stern and members of the best American Quartets.<\/p>\n<p>They have participated at the Orlando Festival, Kerkrade in the Netherlands, Festival Pablo Casals in Prades, France, the Festival \u00bbStrings Only!\u00ab in Zadar, the International Festival of Young Musicians \u00bbDAM\u00ab in Pri\u0161tina, and others.<\/p>\n<p>They have held concerts throughout Slovenia, Europe and the USA (Paris, Berlin, London, Washington, New York, Florence, Vienna itd.)<\/p>\n<p>They have recorded for Radio Slovenia, Radio Maribor, ARD, ORF, France Musique. World premieres have been performed of both Slovene and foreign composers: P. Ramov\u0161, A. Lajovic, M. Fegu\u0161, J. Golob, D. Mo\u010dnik, A. Weingerl, \u010c.S. Voglar, K. Ali\u00e7kaj, K. Gashi, D. Zeqiri, S. Spadini.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006 they released a CD of works by L. Jan\u00e1\u010dek and M. Ravel and in 2011 a CD of works by A. Webern and H. Wolf.<\/p>\n<p>Their hometown has also given them special recognition for their work: they received the City Seal of Maribor and Glazer&#8217;s Charter for accomplishments in the cultural arena.
